FuelTrip

MPG & Fuel Economy Converter

Convert MPG (US/UK), km/L, and L/100 km in either direction.

FuelTrip runs every trip calculation on your device — nothing is sent or stored.

Try: Value=25, From=mpg_us, To=l100km → 9.41 L/100km

How to use

Pick the unit your spec uses, type the number, and choose the unit you want. MPG (US) and MPG (UK) differ because the imperial gallon is about 20% larger than the US gallon, so 30 MPG US is roughly 36 MPG UK. L/100 km is the European and Australian standard and reads inversely — lower is better.

FAQ

Why are MPG (US) and MPG (UK) different?

The UK imperial gallon is 4.546 L versus the US gallon at 3.785 L, so the same car shows a higher MPG number in the UK.

Is a higher or lower L/100 km better?

Lower is better. 6 L/100 km is more efficient than 10 L/100 km; it is the inverse of MPG.

How do I compare a US and European car?

Convert both to L/100 km (or both to MPG US) here, then the numbers are directly comparable.
